25 years. Exactly half of my life I worked in import-export within the fastest branch of ” fast moving consumer goods”: fresh fruit and vegetables. I loved it: the dynamics, the variety – every day was different, the challenges, the “work hard, play hard” attitude, the no-nonsense, the ” eyes on the price”, the brutal honesty of conversations, the international side of it and doing business all over the world, the winner’s mindset.

But they don’t say “you cannot see the picture when you are in the frame” for nothing: I had to step out of it to understand it better.

Actually, it was more falling out of it; one morning in June 2018 I “suddenly” could not get out of my bed. I had a severe burnout. I couldn’t understand any of it: Russians and “Down to earth fruit and vegetable people” don’t get burnout. Just recently I heard from an owner of a large company, “What kind of disease is that, when you can do anything but work?

Now I know that a lot of strong people, the motivated ones, those heart-for-the-business types, the 120% delivery workers have a very high chance of burnout.

And those are the very people we all want in our company, right?

For 25 years I was one of these people. Until I didn’t want it anymore, and finally couldn’t do it. I know now that it can be done differently.

I think it’ s very simple: a successful business is a combination of inspiring and engaging leadership and happy employees who work as a team. That’s my dream for any company. I won’t do it for less.

What should you know about me?

– I am direct and “to the point.” I love taking action and getting results. With me there are no long projects, but short, powerful and no nonsense. I talk the same way: fast and loud.

– Actually I just love fast things, that’s why I am an F1 fan.

– I remain a Russian in my heart, which means (among other things) that as a strong professional woman I always want to look well. And I have a shoe tick.

– I am a Dutch in my mind: business-like and result-oriented, international and open-minded. And very punctual .

– I see my burn-out as a “blessing in disguise”, I have learned a lot and have definitely come out stronger.

– I look very different in my photos and videos every time (so I often hear that I have many faces) and also different from how I am in “real life”.
